Petra, Jordan

Petra is a famous archaeological site in Jordan’s southwestern desert.  Dating to around 300 B.C., it was the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom.  Accessed via a narrow canyon Called Al Sig, it contains tombs and temples carved into pink sandstone cliffs, earning its nickname, the “Rose City.”  Perhaps its most famous structure is 45m-high Al Khazneh, a temple with an ornate Greek-style  façade, and know as the Treasury.  I’ll be taking this one day tour to my 5th UNESCO World Site in 2019 with Outstanding Travel, a gay travel company based in Tel Aviv, Israel as part of my trip to Tel Aviv Pride, one of the best Pride events in the world.  Look for many pictures from Petra and the Pride week in Tel Aviv.
